If your family is feeling the pinch with SNAP funding on hold, you’re not alone — and Conyers & Covington is full of organizations ready to help. We’ve rounded up local resources where you can find free groceries, community meals, and kid-friendly food programs to make things a little easier.
Local Food Pantries and Food Banks
- 2 Helping Hands Inc. Mobile Food Pantry
- Belmont Baptist Church - Food pantry is open Mondays 9 - 11 am, not open on holidays. Free but must be a resident of Georgia. May come once a week
- C4 Community Pantry - Food pantry open every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 5 - 7 pm
- Emmanuel Community Church - ECC Food Pantry will be open every Tuesday from 6:3 - 7:30 pm and Saturday from 10 - 11 am until further notice. Only Rockdale County Resident with picture ID. May come once per month
- Excel Church - Food pantry is open the first Saturday of each month from 10 - 12 pm. First come, first served. No residency requirement.
- Grace UMC Covington - Food pantry: Drive up is every Thursday from 11 am - 1 pm. Mobile pantry is the 4th Thursday from 11 am - 1 pm. ID required to prove residency in surrounding area.
- Harvest Baptist Church - The food pantry is operated on a drive thru basis at this time. There is a suggested donation of 10 dollars, if you cannot afford the 10 dollars no one will be turned away. All are welcome to come. You do not need to bring any paperwork.
- Lakeside Auction Food Pantry - Lakeside Auction Food Pantry is held the 3rd Saturday of every month at 12:00 p.m. Free bags of food for families IN NEED.
- Meals on Wheels - Food delivered to homebound senior citizens.
- Milstead Baptist Church - Food ministry on Monday nights, $12 charge per load.
- Monastery of the Holy Spirit - The Food Pantry is open for distribution on Tuesdays only. Every Tuesday from 8:30 to 11:00 AM. Driver's License or State issued ID. Serves Henry, Newton, Rockdale county residents.
- Newborn Methodist Church - Food Pantry Every 2nd Saturday 9:30-11 am.
- Open Heart Oxford, Relief Center - Located at Mount Zion First Baptist Church, 100 W. Richardson Street, Oxford, GA. Food pantry: 12pm-2pm Wednesdays and Fridays and 3rd Fridays Clothes, Lunch, Shoes.
- Repairers of the Breach, Inc. - To meet the needs of the less fortunate. When funds allow, they provide food & shelter. Thrift store provides clothing & furniture at their Washington Street facility.
- Rockdale Emergency Relief - Helps with: food, hygiene, and emergency utility assistance.
- Springfield Baptist Church Food Ministry - Food pantry.
- Starrsville Church Food Pantry - Food pantry is open the first Saturday of each month from 10 - 11:30 am.
- The Church Covington - Food pantry is on Mondays and Thursdays from 11am - 1:30 pm. Bring ID.
- The Potter’s House Church - Call church to schedule appointment.
- Willing Helpers Food Ministry - Provides food pantry Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 am-1 pm, for area residents. Bring 1 form of identification (License, state ID, passport, or college ID)
- Xtra Mile Food Bank - Located in Conyers and is open to the community and all surrounding towns. We are open Thursday and Saturday, 9 AM-1 PM.
